O-Rings For Swmming Pool Bulbs - The O ring is required to seal the certikin light housing when the bulb is being replaced. The O ring should be replaced every time the bulb is replaced due to the heat damage from the bulb (after hours and hours of heat applide over the years of use) and water damage where the pool chemicals such as chlorine make the rubber hard, failure to replace the O ring may result in water leaking into the light housing and shorting out the transformer which can cost £100s, not to mention the bulb only lasting a fraction of the time.
